Personal Portfolio Refresh
A mobile-first redesign of my personal portfolio focused on clarity, performance, and recruiter-friendly presentation.
The Goal
The goal of this project was to create a clean, modern portfolio that clearly communicates my skills, projects, and design sensibilities within the first few seconds of viewing.
I wanted a site that balances personality with professionalism, while remaining fast, accessible, and easy to navigate on mobile devices.
Tech Stack
- HTML5 (semantic structure)
- Tailwind CSS (utility-first, mobile-first design)
- Vanilla JavaScript (lightweight enhancements)
- GitHub Pages (deployment)
Key Design Decisions
- Mobile-first layout: Designed for small screens first, then progressively enhanced for tablets and desktops.
- High contrast & readable typography: Ensures accessibility and easy scanning for recruiters.
- Minimal color palette with green accents: Reflects my personal style while keeping the focus on content.
- Project-driven structure: Emphasizes real work over buzzwords.
Challenges & Solutions
One of the main challenges was structuring internal links correctly for a GitHub Pages project site. This required careful use of relative paths and consistent file naming to prevent broken navigation.
Another challenge was balancing personality with clarity. This was solved by keeping copy concise, sections well-spaced, and visuals intentional.
Outcome
The result is a fast, responsive portfolio that showcases my work clearly and professionally while still feeling personal and modern. The structure also allows for easy expansion as new projects are added.
